B-21 Raider In Flight Test But Was Today First Flight?

The US Air Force next generation stealth bomber known as the B-21 Raider was seen flying early this morning from the airport and factory complex known as Plant 42, in Palmdale, California. It is known to have landed at Edwards Air Force Base soon after.

While both the US Air Force and aerospace prime contractor Northrop Grumman have confirmed the B-21 is in flight test, both are so far unwilling or unable to confirm today’s flight was the bomber’s actual first flight.

GAO Rejects Sikorsky’s Protest Over Army’s FLRAA Contract

The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) has denied a protest filed by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, challenging the award of a lucrative Army helicopter contract to Bell Textron, Inc. The contract, worth up to $7 billion, is for the development of the Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), a new vertical lift aircraft that will replace the UH-60 Black Hawk utility fleet.
