Airbus Delivers First A318 To LAN Airlines

Airbus announced the first A318 delivery to LAN Airlines in Chile. The delivery aircraft was equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW6000 engines, and according to the manufacturer's statement, is the first of a 20 plane order awarded in 2005. The aircraft will operate domestically.


Airbus says the Pratt & Whitney powered version of the A318 was recently certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on May 25, 2007.
