Qantas has issued a statement about the aircraft set to replace their fleet of 737 Next Generation (737NG) aircraft for domestic services. The selection was disclosed after a competition between Airbus, Boeing and Embraer for their fleet of A320 NEO/A220, 737 MAX and E2 jets.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is allowing the Boeing 737 MAX to fly and carry airline passengers again. On November 18, 2020, FAA Administrator Steve Dickson signed an order rescinding the grounding, in effect since March 13, 2019.
