SpaceX Starship Test Flight 3: Progress Not Perfection

SpaceX's colossal Super Heavy-Starship rocket embarked on its third test flight, 14 March, 2024. The 394-foot-tall vehicle, equipped with 33 Raptor engines, launched at 9:25 a.m. EDT.

The Starship's upper stage, which reached space for the first time in this test campaign, experienced temperatures exceeding 2,500 degrees during re-entry. Although it did not survive the descent, the mission marked a significant milestone in SpaceX's effort to commercialize their next generation Starship launch system.
