Airline News - Video of the Spanair MD-82 plane crash in Madrid shows the aircraft barely getting off the ground, then skidding and erupting in fire and smoke.
The crash took place just as the aircraft began to lift off and it appears failure to deploy the flaps may be the primary cause, according to published and broadcast accounts.
The plane was operating as Flight JK5022 and bound for the Canary Islands.
