Army CH-47 Chinook Helicopters Rise To Afghan Combat Challenges

Army Sargent Victor Gardner reports in this military news video on a CH-47 Chinook air assault into the mountains of Afghanistan to destroy two weapons caches. The mission was carried out by Task Force Rakkasan, Apache Company, 1-33 Cavalry, 101st Airborne Division along with elements of the Afghan National Army.

The CH-47 helicopters lifted the Rakkasans into the hills touching down with a pinnacle landing. On arrival, the weapons and other supplies of the insurgents were destroyed.

The Rakkasans have a long and distinguished history in airborne combat stemming back to operations in the Pacific Theater of WWII.

This aerospace news video was produced by the men and women of the United States Army and is re-published here as a service to our audience.
