DJI Mavic 3 Pro Unveiled
Drone maker DJI unveiled its latest prosumer flagship model, the Mavic 3 Pro, which features a triple-camera system. The new drone offers additional versatility for aerial photography and videography, with three cameras that cover different focal lengths: 24mm, 70mm, and 166mm, the company claims.
The main camera is a Hasselblad 4/3 CMOS sensor that can capture 20MP photos and up to 5.1K/50p or DCI 4K/120p video. It also supports a new 10-bit D-Log M color mode that delivers up to one billion colors and up to 12.8 stops of dynamic range, says DJI. The medium-telephoto camera has a 1/1.3 CMOS sensor that can capture 48MP photos and up to 4K/60p video, with a 3x optical zoom. The long-telephoto camera has a 1/2 CMOS sensor that can capture 12MP photos and up to 4K/60p video, with a 7x optical zoom and a fixed aperture of F3.4.
The Mavic 3 Pro has a claimed flight time of up to 43 minutes. It has eight wide-angle vision sensors for omnidirectional obstacle detection and avoidance, as well as DJI's O3+ transmission system that provides a 1080p/60fps live feed at a distance of up to 15 km. The drone also includes features such as Waypoint Flight, Cruise Control, MasterShots, FocusTrack, and Hyperlapse.
For drone operators who need commercial-grade video specs, DJI offers the Mavic 3 Pro Cine model, which includes built-in 1TB SSD storage (non-removable) and a 10Gbps data cable for file transfer. All three cameras on this model support Apple ProRes 422 HQ, Apple ProRes 422, and Apple ProRes 422 LT encoding.
The Mavic 3 Pro is available in two packages: the standard package with the DJI RC remote controller for $2,999 USD, and the Fly More Combo with the DJI RC Pro remote controller and additional accessories for $3,999 USD. The Mavic 3 Pro Cine is available only with the DJI RC Pro remote controller for $4,999 USD.
