US Airways crash in the Hudson River

Airline News - Video of US Airways crash in the Hudson River in New York.

The crash took place just after the aircraft took off from LaGuardia Airport en route to Charlotte, N.C.

Some published reports indicate the pilot told air traffic controllers there had been a double bird strike which resulted in a loss of power in both of the airliner's jet engines.

The National Transportation Safety Board is sending a Go Team to investigate the crash. The accident aircraft is a US Airways Airbus A-320 (N106US). Watch ongoing coverage of this developing story in our airline news video section.
