Hot Pic – Avalanche on Mars – Space Picture
This hot pic shows an avalanche on Mars that is still underway. According to NASA, it actually shows four different avalanches.

NASA says the High Resolution Imaging Experiment (HiRISE) on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter took the space picture February 19, 2008.
According to NASA, the MRO spacecraft has taken the first image of active avalanches near the north pole of Mars. The space picture shows tan clouds billowing near the foot of a massive slope, where ice and dust have cascaded.
